The Exciting Results of the Legends of Poker in Season 7 of the World Poker Tour
The World Poker Tour is currently on its seventh successful season as one of the major events in the poker industry. Year after year, more and more card players are aiming to be part of this prestigious and highly anticipated annual poker event. As the number of players and participants continue to grow, the level of poker competition seems to rise as well, which makes the games more exciting and fun to watch.
Lined up for Season 7 of the World Poker Tour, the Legends of Poker tournament was held at the elegant poker room of the Bicycle Casino within the beautiful City of Bell Gardens in the state of California. From August 23 to 28, 2008, some of the best poker players in the world, together with the top contenders of the game, gathered in this super exciting world-class poker tournament. Overall, 373 participants showed up for the occasion, each of which are trying their very best to win something from the huge prize pool of $3,520,738.
With the aim of establishing themselves as one of the true legends of the game, all the participants paid $10,000 each to be part of the exclusive Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino. At the final table event, only six highly competitive individuals out of the total 373 participants remained in contention for the title as well as the prestigious pot money. As expected, the remaining players displayed everything they have to outplay and outsmart their opponents, just like all the first-rate competitions that transpired in Legends of Poker events of the past.
After days of grueling poker competition, the Legends of Poker final table was reduced to the likes of Amit Makhija, Kyle Wilson, and Zachary Clark. To complete the final cast of the competition, Trong Nguyen, John Phan, and Paul Smith also reached this all-important point of all poker tournaments. Play after play, each of the remaining participants showed no signs of slowing down in their quest for a world poker title. However, there is only one room for a champion as one by one the final table players slowly falls out of the event.
Because the competition at the Legends of Poker in World Poker Tour Season 7 starts to heat up, Wilson made some crucial mistakes that eventually led to the end of his championship run. Soon after, Nguyen found himself in a similar spot as he busts out of the competition. Smith and Clark soon followed, leaving Makhija and Phan for the title race. After some brilliant plays, Phan was able to move ahead of his opponent en route to his very first ever World Poker Tour title after years of disappointment. Because of this particular win, he was able to add a huge $1,116,428 to his overall poker career earnings.
